WEEKEND WORKSHOP
MAY 21st & 22nd  10am-4pm

Elaine is a national award winning artist and instructor.  She is passionate about both creating and teaching art and believes that
sharing her own artistic knowledge and skills accumulated over her
lifetime, enriches the world around her.   As a disciplined professional artist for the past thirty years Elaine has provided art instruction to
hundreds of students, young and old, for the past two decades and this collective experience lead her to the publish her book titled "Harmonious Color Schemes; a no-nonsense approach using the Color
Wheel".

Are you tired of mixing paint via the hit or miss technique?  There is no secret formula but this workshop will help you get on track!    Harmonious Color Schemes; a no-nonsense approach using the Color Wheel, is a simplified method to mixing paint for the artists and focuses on using single pigments and choosing a color scheme using the Color Wheel (paperback book and color wheel included in this workshop).   This workshop is suitable for any medium and artistic abilities and offers lots of individual attention and encouragement.

Day 1: You will be introduced to the twelve basic color groups, identify their bias, sort your paint colors into these groups and paint color charts using your own paint colors.  These are fun and easy exercises, and you’ll only ever have to do this once so why not do them here!

Day 2: Using photo references of your choice, you will paint the same image in 6 different color schemes.  This will give you a clear understanding of color bias and gain knowledge and confidence to mix any color you need with a minimal amount of colors. Whether you are just beginning your art journey or have been struggling to mix color for years, this systematic approach will help you get on the right track.
